VB to probe commission paid by PSEB

The alleged payment of Rs 1.62 crore as commission to a middleman by Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) for securing a loan of Rs 300 crore from a bank in 2005-06 financial year is now being probed by the state vigilance bureau.
The probe is expected to be completed within two months, the bureau has informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court division bench of the Chief Justice Tirath Singh Thakur and Justice Hement Gupta during resumed hearing on the PIL.
The petition has been filed by advocate HC Arora and is scheduled to come up for further hearing on January 20.
