PSEB engineers want strengthening of transmission systems
JALANDHAR: The Punjab State Electricity Board Engineer’s Association organised a meeting of its executive committee on Saturday.
Issues such as the need to strengthen the transmission and sub-transmission system, the launch of the billing software of Spanco in other districts and opposition to the franchisee model in distribution were discussed.
Association president engineer Baldev Singh said that there was an urgent need to augment the transmission and sub-transmission system in the state, keeping in view of the commissioning of the upcoming power plants in the state in next two or three years. He added that the present system was overloaded and would be unable to carry any extra load.
He also warned the government and the PSPCL not to launch the billing software of Spanco in other districts and as it had created problems in Patiala and Mohali.
He added that a committee should be formed to check the lacunas in the software and the activity should be given to PSPCL’s billing department.
