R S Dahiya & Bhupinder Singh elected Chairman & Secretary General NIPEF

R S Dahiya and Bhupinder Singh were unanimously elected Chairman and Secretary General of Northern India Power Engineers Federation (NIPEF).

The federal council of NIPEF in its meeting elected the office bearers of Federation for the next three years term. R S Dahiya from Haryana and Bhupinder Singh from Punjab were elected Chairman and Secretary General of Federation .RPS Sidhu (Himachal Pardesh) BL Jat (Rajasthan), Satya Pal (Delhi) and Vaneet Gupta (J&K) were elected Vice Chairman. The other office bearers are R V Singh Bouddh (Secretary Headquarter ), V K Gupta (Secretary Finance), OP Pandey (Secretary Organisation) and R S Sarao (Secretary Publication).

The Executive members elected are Kabul Singh (Haryana ) ,Sarvesh Kumar (Delhi),PS Bhadoia(Rajasthan)Satpal Singh Khatta, and Jagmohan Singh .Suneel Grover & HS Bedi outgoing Chairman & Secretary General will be ex-officio members.

The newly elected executive opposed the conditional bailout package for power utilities. The bailout package as contained in the scheme comes with many riders which are against the basic principle of constitution as power is a concurrent subject.

The executive demanded professionalization of power utility managements and involvement of engineers in decision making process. It was decided to bring out a white paper on the failure of privatization of power sector in Delhi.
