PSEB engineers pay tributes to Vasant
PATIALA: The PSEB Engineers Association here on Sunday paid tributes to Er NS Vasant, one of the greatest power engineers of India who was the Chairman of Punjab State Electricity Board from 1980 to 1991. He also served in Delhi Electricity Supply undertaking before joining Punjab State Electricity Board and he was instrumental in transforming the power sector in Punjab during his tenure. Engineer Sanjeev Sood, General Secretary of the PSEB Engineers Association, said Vasant was a great visionary and he first put the ailing Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant back on rails and then executed the super Thermal Plant at Ropar in record time. He conceptualized the Lehra Mohabbat Thermal Plants and the work on stage-I started during his tenure. The Mukerian, Anandpur Sahib and other mini hydel projects were also commissioned during his tenure.DP
