Recent change of mobile phone service provider from vodafone to BSNL is third in the series. The change leaves us with harassment of changing saved official numbers of many PSPCL officers in our phones, conveying new no to relatives and friends and many other important links. It takes a lot of time for the person to do this inevitable job. With the advent of mobile number portability the department could have asked the new service provider to change the company without having to change the mobile number of Closed User Group members. I think our department should have exercised this option and save PSPCL mobile phone holders from the harassment. After all phone numbers of govt departments should never change as the same have been treated as identity of the govt offices like land line numbers.
