Apart from the compulsory seven-hour power cut in the city, frequent technical snags are making the life of residents difficult.
One such area in the city is Jagjit Nagar where one phase goes off every now and then. The trouble gets even more when they get no response from the toll free complaint number.
Rinku Kahlon, owner of Col’s Cabin restaurant, said, “Employees attending to the toll free number 5055510 often tell us to give the meter number and other details and later tell us that it will take 3-4 hours for the complaint to reach the electricity office. So what is the fun of having this facility? One day, our fuse was repaired after eight hours.”
Even BRS Nagar was without electricity the whole of Thursday night.
Ludhiana West Deputy Chief Engineer Rachpal Singh, however, assured that the problems would be taken care of and assured that he would ask the staff to see why technical problems were occurring regularly in the area.
