Ropar and Lehra Mohabatt sets new monthly generation records

ROPAR:Ropar and Lehra Mohabatt thermal plants of Punjab State Electricity Board has set a new record for supplying maximum power in a single month since their inceptions.

According to N K Saggar Chief Engineer of Ropar thermal plant, the plant generated 9337.5 lakh units in the month of August with plant load factor of 99.6 percent. The unit no. 3 of plant produced 1590 lakh units in August with more than 100 percent plant load factor. The previous best monthly generation record was during January 2007 when the plant generated 9329 lakh units with plant load factor of 99.37 percent.

Similarly Lehra Mohabatt thermal plant also set a new monthly generation record of 6890 lakh units with plant load factor of 100.7 percent. Baldev Singh a senior engineer working at plant said that unit no. 1 has been running continuously for last more than six months.

It may be mentioned that despite record generation the commercial run of unit no. 4 is yet to begun. BHEL is yet to complete a number of works before it is handed over to PSEB.
