Russian delegates to visit Guru Gobind thermal plant

A Russian delegation will visit Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant, Ropar, on September 14 to study the plant’s initiative of using 100 per cent of its fly ash.

An official spokesperson said the team would hold discussions also to evolve strategy for research and development in this field.

The plant has also achieved a record generation in August that is highest since its inception. In a statement issued today, the plant spokesperson claimed it had generated 933.75 million units (MUs) with the plant load factor (PLF) of 99.61 per cent in August, which was the best ever generation since the inception of the plant.

The Oil India Limited has honoured the thermal plant during a function held recently and awarded the plant appreciating its reduction in consumption of furnace oil and lube oils. Also under its environment friendly exercise, the plant authorities would plant 5,000 saplings in green belts.

Plant chief engineer NK Saggar congratulated engineers and workers on their achievements.
