PATIALA: PSEB employees, supervisors and officers have decided to hold joint protest rallies in different parts of Punjab on October 1 in case their pay for September was not released as per revised pay scales.
A Joint Meeting of the representatives of all the trade Unions and Officers Associations decide for the protest rally after their meeting with PSEB management at Patiala. The representatives of various associations in its meeting with board conveyed the resentment amongst employees due to delay in accepting the recommendations of wage formulation committee.
It was pointed out that PSEB had been revising the pay scales of its employees and officers independently without any interference from the State govt. So the stand of the State govt. representative in the Board that PSEB should seek approval of the State govt. is illogical.
The management was informed that as per the terms of reference approved by the Board for revision of pay scales by wage formulation committee, it was decided that existing differential of pay scales of PSEB employee’s vis-à-vis their counterpart state Government employees shall be maintained. The recommendations of WFC are just to maintain the existing differential and any tinkering would not be acceptable.
Pal Singh Moga, Surinder Singh Phelwan, Karamchand Bharadwaj, Harbhajan singh, Faljit Singh, Sawarn Singh, Vijay Kumar, B.S.Sekhon, Brij lal of PSEB Employees joint forum, H.S.Bedi and Bhupinder Singh of PSEB Engineers’ Association, Sukhdev Singh, Devinder Singh of Council of Junior Engineers, Paramjit Singh Bedi of General Officers Association and V.K. Goel of officers (Accounts) Associations participated in the meeting.
It was also decided to intensify the agitation after the protest rally and further action to intensify the agitation would also be announced on the day.
