Bangalore: The All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) has urged the State Government to merge the five electricity supply companies in Karnataka into one unit. Padamjit Singh, chairman of AIPEF, in a release, said that their demand follows the landmark judgment of the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity which said that under the provision of Electricity Act 2003, it was not compulsory or mandatory to un-bundle or split the state electricity Boards. — Staff Reporter
