ABOHAR: The members of the Technical Services Union today virtually made two officers “captive” inside the divisional office complex of the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) here and kept them standing till the closing of the office hours.
As per the information available, the TSU members reportedly deprived the SDO Surinder Singh Behal and additional SDO Jagdev Sokhal of their chairs inside the PSEB divisional office complex, drew a circle around them using a chalk and forced them to keep standing for the whole day threatening that stern action would be taken, if they dared to sit down or come out of the circle.
This was an exemplary punishment for the officers, who had been allegedly harassing some of the union activists including Raj Tilak, Satish Babbar, Lajja Ram, Bhanwar Daan, Nirmal Singh and Harbhajan Singh for the past 4-5 months, the TSU workers said.
While refuting the allegations, the officers said they had been sandwiched between the two factions and earn wrath of the warring groups on acceptance of demands.
