Panipat thermal units tripped again for third time

Panipat: The people of Haryana were in shock today when there was no power in the morning as three thermal units at Panipat Thermal Plant tripped again on Friday night due to bus fault in BBMB 400 KV sub station at Sewah Panipat.
Friday night the tripping of Inter Connecting Transformer of Bhakra Beas Management Board 400 KV Sub Station at Panipat) and simultaneous tripping of all four 220 KV circuits between 400 KV Sub Station at BBMB,Panipat and Panipat Thermal Plant t resulted into tripping of three number 110 MW Unit No.1,2 & 4 of thermal plant.
This is the third consecutive time in three days that snag at BBMB PanipatSub-Station caused outage of Haryana generating units at Panipat. However, the system collapse situation was averted due to timely action by Northern Region Load Dispatch Centre. The railway supply which was affected by tripping of stage 1 unit was restored by making alternative arrangements.
A spokesman for Haryana Power Utilities said the thermal units were synchronized today by afternoon. Haryana has provided 2400 Anti Fog Insulators to BBMB to avoid such tripping.
The 400 transmission lines which tripped included Panipat Dadri, Bassi Heerapur Azamgarh Gorakhpur Azamgarh Sultanpur and Azamgarh Sarnath line.
220 KV transmission lines affected were Panipat Dhulkot, Panipat Kurukshetra Panipat Narela Kota Badode.
