CM promises relief from power cuts
Ludhiana, January 27
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said yesterday that people would get relief from power cuts this summer, as the PSEB had been told to make power purchase agreements and buy power at any cost from other states.
He was talking to the media after the Republic Day celebrations here. Listing achievements of the SAD-BJP alliance in the past three years, Badal said Punjab would soon become a surplus state with the commissioning of three new thermal plants at Talwandi Sabo, Goindwal Sahib and Rajpura with an additional generation capacity of 3,840 MW. He said the project of Guru Gobind Singh Refinery would be completed before March 2011.
