Bhakra Power House adjudged best hydro plant in the country

New Delhi: BBMB’s Bhakra Power House, Nangal has been adjusted best hydro power station in the country and has been National award for its meritorious performances in the year 2008-09.
The awards were given away by Sushil Kumar Shinde, Union Minister of Power at a function in Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
NTPC has bagged the maximum number of 6 awards by a single power utility. NTPC’s thermal plant at Simdhari has been declared best in thermal plant station category. NTPC Korba and Ramgundam have come second in the same category. The thermal plants at Vindiyachal, Rihand and Dadri have bagged third position.
Power Grid has bagged two awards for transmission system availability for Western region 1 transmission system, and North – Eastern transmission system, it has also bagged special award for early completion of 220 KV line to Kabul in Afghanistan.
Yamunanagar thermal Plant has bagged the award in the category of early completion of project.
Tata Power Maharashtra has been adjusted best distribution company in the country. In the rural Distribution franchisee Mahila Mandal Andhra Pardesh has been adjudged as best in the country.
Pong Power hose under BBMB has also bagged the third award in hydro power stations performance category.
