BSEB move to bridge communication gap
TNN, 4 February 2010,
PATNA: To overcome the problems besetting the Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB), and bridge communication gap between the field officers and headquarters, the BSEB mandarins have decided to get in touch with officers stationed at far-flung areas through teleconferencing. This would be done once in a week starting from February 4.

Chairman and senior members of the board will interact with the field engineers, comprising general manager-cum-chief engineers of seven areas, superintending engineers in-charge of distribution and transmission apart from others.

Member (technical) P K Rai, told TOI that the exercise is being carried out to understand the real problems facing the field formations while the headquarters would chalk out the ways to overcome such hindrance.

Apart from other things the purpose of the conferencing is to apprise the board officials in field to give thrust on revenue collection, to give emphasis on Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana and maintain quality works.

The conference will be of two hours. Rai said that senior engineers would be asked to form quality circles which he introduced in the railways within his zone. This would help engineers to gear up to the situation and deliver quality works.
