Power theft detected at BJP leader’s farm house

FATEHGARH SAHIB: A three member team of Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) led by a SDO has detected power theft in a farm house of a BJP leader at village Kotla Dadheri. According to information received, the team raided in morning and detected power theft.

Sources said the PSEB authorities imposed penalty of Rs 75,000 and also recommended registration of the case.

Sources said that PSEB authorities conducted raid in Mandi Gobindgarh and adjoining areas and checked around 300 connections in last two days. Source said 15 cases of power theft have detected and fine of Rs 4 lakh has imposed.

Meanwhile, a team of Anti Narcotics Cell of Fatehgarh Sahib police arrested one Krishen Kumar, a resident of Dilichi Mohalla, Bassi Pathana during checking near Namdev Road, Bassi Pathana and recovered 14 bottles of English liquor, which was meant to sale in Chandigarh only.

A case under various sections of Excise Act was registered against the accused at Bassi Pathana. He was presented in a local court where he was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
