Man held for stealing iron from thermal plant

Ropar, February 11
A man was held with 100-kg sheet of iron stolen from Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal power plant at Ropar yesterday, while his accomplice managed to flee away from the spot.

The accused was nabbed by the employees of a private security company deployed in the premises of thermal plant and was soon after handed over to the cops at Ghanauli police station.

As per the officials, both accused were posted as contractual employees and were working at the thermal plant itself. They have been identified as Kulwinder Singh, resident of village Fatehpur Bangala and Surjit Singh from Amritsar.
