PSEB Engineers caution management not TO interfere in Association matters

ROPAR: Thermal Plant engineers at Ropar and Lehra Mohabatt cautioned the PSEB Management to desist from interfering into the affairs of the Association and endorsed the Association’s decision of non- cooperation with PSEB Chairman.

An emergency meeting of Thermal Plant engineers was held today at Ropar and Lehra Mohabatt which was attended by more than 100 engineers at each place.

The meetingat Ropar cautioned the Board Management to desist from interfering into the affairs of the Association by stage-managing support of so called section of engineers. The consequences of such an unethical course of action of Board Management will be disastrous for the organization for which the management will be solely responsible.

S C Chabba Sr. Vice President of Association condemned the actions of handful of engineers who are issuing anti Association statements at the behest of PSEB Management.

The members also endorsed the decision of Central Executive Body of Association for non-cooperation with PSEB Chairman and to implement all the programmes announced by the association.

Parmod Sharma regional Secretary of Ropar Thermal Region requested the central body to take up the issues affecting the working & service condition of the engineers with the board management particularly the pending matters with regard to pay revision matters. A large number of engineers could not gain from this pay revision as Board has not given a minor clarification which it was supposed to give immediately. This matter has been lingering for four months.

The house further requested the Central Body to ensure that higher start of Assistant Engineers' scale and jump of increments is adequately compensated and reflected in revised category-wise scales.

The above issues were of utmost importance to a large section of engineers as the deadline for unbundling was fast approaching. The meeting unanimously resolved that in case the Board Management failed to address these issues in a time bound manner, a notice of agitation be served on the management.

General House meeting of Guru Hargobind Thermal Plant Region of PSEB Engineers Association was also held today at Lehra Mohabatt and was attended by about 100 Engineers.

Baldev Singh said that and all the members endorsed the decision of Central Executive Body of Association for non – cooperation of PSEB Chairman. It was further resolved that all the members shall implement all the programmes announced by the Central Body. The engineers also condemned the actions of handful of engineers who are issuing anti Association statements at the behest of PSEB chairman.

The meeting at Lehra Mohabatt was addressed by Suresh Bansal Regional Secretary, H C Kamboj Joint Secy.,Harnek Singh Executive Member and Baldev Singh.
