JAMMU:

ower Grid Corporation deputy general manager Bhola Ram had told his family mem- bers only a couple of days ago that he would be returning in two weeks to rejoin duty. But that was not to be. The 50- year-old Pathankot resident based in Jammu was among the nine Indians killed in a ter- rorist attack in Kabul on Friday.
The family, which was preparing for his homecom- ing, now awaits his coffin.

Bhola Ram, who had gone to Kabul in May 2007, was a member of a team of officials and engineers who were trans- ferred to the Afghanistan cap- ital to supervise construction of a 220-KV transmission line between Phulkumari and Kabul. The construction was over last year and though his transfer orders were issued in April, he was asked to stay till the formal handing over of the project to the government.

Bhola Ram is survived by his wife and two children. His daughter Sonia is doing grad- uation and son Viren is a Class VIII student.
