Agrawal is BBMB head

AB Agrawal, Executive Director, NHPC, will now head the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB).

A mechanical engineer and MBA in Finance, Agrawal is a versatile hydropower professional with multi-disciplinary experience of over 31 years in NHPC.

While heading the 2000-MW Subansiri Lower HE Project - biggest hydro power project under construction in the country - he also helped in setting new standards of hydropower construction through his dynamism, social networking and leadership qualities. As in charge of operation and maintenance O&M of the 690-MW Salal Power Station of Jammu & Kashmir, which is the most silt-plagued plant in the country in operation, his innovative and cost-effective initiatives were instrumental in ensuring that it became the most economically-operated hydro power station in terms of O&M cost per MW among all Central sector power stations.
