Record generation by Ropar and Lehra Mohabatt thermal plants

CHANDIGARH: Ropar and Lehra Mohabatt thermal plants of Punjab State Electricity Board has set a new record for supplying maximum power in a financial year since their inceptions.
P K Sood Chief Engineer Ropar thermal plant said that a new generation record of 10056 million units with plant load factor of 91.11 percent has been achieved in the financial year 2009-10.The previous record was 9806 million units with load factor of 88.6 percent.
The thermal plant generated 9337.5 lakh units in the month of August with plant load factor of 99.6 percent setting a new record. The unit no. 3 of plant produced 1590 lakh units in August with more than 100 percent plant load factor. Number of tripping in the year was also minimum at 70 against previous best of 75.
According to G S Chhabra General Manager Lehra Mohabatt thermal plant has generated maximum power so for with plant load factor of a 96.41 percent. The new monthly generation record has also been achieved in March 2010 with monthly generation of 7065 lakh units with load factor of 103.21 percent. Unit no 2 of plant also set a new generation record of 103.88 plant load factoring March 2010
