UP Power men observe Black day
VARANASI: The power employees associated with Vidyut Karmachari Samyukt Sangharsh Samiti (VKSSS) observed a black day on Thursday in protest against the move of the UP Power Corporation of giving power distribution rights to a private company in Agra.

They also continued to boycott their work on the second consecutive day. Describing it as a historic mistake of the UP Power Corporation, the agitating employees demanded immediate intervention of the state government.

They also held a meeting at the Kamachcha powerhouse. Addressing the meeting, speakers said introduction of private company in power distribution would cause a loss of Rs 6,000 crore to the power corporation. The boycott of power employees affected the revenue collection worth Rs 8 crore in Eastern UP, they said. The meeting was addressed by convener RK Vahi, RPS Yadav, AP Srivastava and others.
