First unit of Khedar thermal plant commissioned

HISAR: The first unit of 600 MW Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Station Khedar near Hissar was commissioned on full load in a recode time of 38 months on Thursday.
600 MW units was put on generation on April 1 at 0745 hours.
As per HPGCL website the unit attained a maximum load of 518 MW for one and half hour from 1500 hours to 1630 hours and thereafter the generation was reduced to 351 MW at 1700 hrs and the unit operated in the range 371 MW to 450 MW subsequently.
The unit generated 56.37 lakh units on day 1 of full load commissioning. Today the unit was operating in the rage of 350 MW to 437 MW till the time of reporting. During the month of March 2010 this unit generated 499.43 lakh units at a PLF of only 11.19percent.
Khedar unit has not operated at full load even for a day. The commercial run of unit can be completed after it completes a trial run of 14 days out of which 72 hrs operations should be at full generation.
