Pact for Jhajjar power transmission today

: With a view to executing the Jhajjar power trans- mission project in the public- private partnership (PPP) mode, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) will sign an agreement with Jhajjar KT Transco Pvt. Ltd on May 27.
Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Power, Madhusudan Prasad said the agreement would be signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
He said the model of execution of this project would be significant for the creation of transmission infrastructure in Haryana with support from state and Central governments with private sector investment.
The state government had decided to award the contract to the consortium of Kalpataru Power Transmission, Mumbai, and Techno Electric and Engineering, Kolkata, who had quoted the lowest one-time grant of Rs 93.90 crore over and above the unitary charge of Rs 4.50 crore per month payable after commissioning of the substations scheduled for December, 2011.
Jhajjar KT Transco Pvt. Ltd., a special purpose vehicle, has been formed by Kalpataru Power Transmission and Techno Electric and Engineer- ing to set up two 400 KV sub- stations at Kabulpur village in Rohtak and Deepalpur in Sonepat, along with a 100-km- long 400 KV double-circuit transmission line.
