HPGCL recruits 218 engineers

To fulfill the technical manpower requirements of the 1,200 MW Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Project at Khedar and to meet the shortage of engineers at the existing thermal power stations in Yamunanagar and Panipat, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) has strengthened its technical cadre by recruiting 218 fresh graduates as assistant engineer (trainee).
A spokesman for the HPGCL said here today that to prepare the engineers for handling hi-tech equipment, the first batch of 60 engineers had already been deputed for 26-week training at National Power Training Institute, Badarpur, and Power Management Institute, Noida.
The remaining engineers, who had already been deployed at the HPGCL power stations and were undergoing training would be sent to the institutes later
