The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) here today launched a plantation drive, with a target to plant around a lakh saplings across the state. PSPCL CMD KD Chaudhry said, “We understand that apart from providing uninterrupted power supply to the consumers of Punjab, we have other social responsibilities as well.

PSPCL has regularly been promoting writers, authors, sportspersons, artists and helping the needy, all steps undertaken as part of our commitment towards social causes.”

In view of the favourable monsoon this year, the CMD said, the PSPCL management had decided to plant 18,000 trees each in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar and Bhatinda zones. The rest, said he, shall be planted at PSPCL thermal or hydel projects.
