Ram Pal appointed HERC member
CHANDIGARH:
The Haryana government has appointed Ram Pal, a former director of
Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, as member of Haryana Electricity
Regulatory Commission. The post of HERC member had fallen vacant on
completion of tenure of Tej Singh Tewatia four months ago.
Ram Pal's name was recommended by a selection committee headed by Justice I.P.
Vasisth (retd.) on October 18, 2010. Central Electricity Authority
officiating chairman Gurdial Singh and Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati
were members of the committee.
Ram Pal has spent 34 years in the power sector. He worked in various
capacities in the erstwhile Haryana State Electricity Board and
