The restructuring of Haryana Power Discoms has been demanded by power engineers as the same has not been done even once in last one decade resulting in unsatisfactory service to the consumers and overloading of sub divisions.
RS Dahiya, President Haryana Power Engineers Association said that in generation and transmission wings at least some restructuring efforts have been made but Discoms have not been touched even once. The main revenue earning utilities have been left untouched .The vacant number of posts is increasing and so is work load in offices.
Dahiya alleged that Power Utility Engineers were getting higher Pay scales than the State Services Engineers in 5th Pay Commission due to their arduous nature of duties. But this aspect has been completely ignored in case of assistant engineers and they have not been given even pay scales of state engineers
Dahiya further said that In Punjab, HP and Uttar Pradesh the engineers in power sector companies are getting better pay scales than Government engineers since power supply is an essential service to be maintained on 24 hour, round the clock basis. In case of Haryana assistant engineers are lowest paid officers of country.
Dahiya urged the Chief Minister to look in to the matter and solve their long pending grievances.
