Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant has been awarded the shield by The Punjab State Safety Award committee for year 2011.

The award has been given for largest reduction in frequency rate of accidents in category of light engineering industry with more than 5 lacs man hours. The award was given by Tikshan Sood, Minister, and Punjab to JS Dhody Chief Engineer/GGSSTP at Hoshiarpur.
