The performance of Lehra Mohabbat thermal plant near Bhatinda in Punjab has shown marked improvement with more than 100% plant load factor this season, said RP S Saini Chief Engineer of thermal plant..
The unit 3 of Lehra Mohabbat thermal plant has been running continuously for the last 155 days without any tripping. After the annual maintenance the unit was synchronized on December 4 last. Even in case of unit 1 and 2 they have been running continuously after their maintenance without any break down. The unit 2 was synchronized on February 28 and unit 1 on April 2.
The earlier record of continuous running for unit 3 was of 121 days. Similarly the unit-II and unit-IV of the thermal plant had produced power for 112 days and 113 days continuously without tripping. However unit-I held the record of producing power continuously for 196 days.
Unit 4 is under annual maintenance these days and is likely to be put on bars by the end of this month. RP Saini, Chief Engineer of thermal plant that with such high standards of performance, the plant can be expected to contribute its maximum generation during the coming paddy season. He added that with continuous running of all the three units the other parameters of plant have also improved considerably.
