SURPLUS Action plans will be prepared for a period of up to 7 years in view of increase in load To expedite release connections in Yamunanagar, Panipat, Sonepat and
Bahadurgarh, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) would
prepare short-term and long-term action plans.

UHBVN chief engineer, planning, design and construction would submit his report on technical feasibility, shifting of load to upcoming and planned substations, system constraints and upgradation of the system up to May 31.

Besides, he will also meet the representatives of industries
associations. The plan for other areas and all categories of consumers would be prepared in the phased manner.

It was decided in the operation review committee meeting chaired by managing director Arun Kumar.

The plan would be prepared for a period of one to seven years mainly keeping in view the load growth and ensuring better services to existing consumers as well as applicants seeking new power connections.

A spokesman said it was discussed in detail that the Nigam has already planned to supply 5 to 7% extra power to the consumers this year, for which adequate banking and return banking arrangements have been made.

Due to the judicious banking arrangements, it is expected that the cost of electricity supply would be less and would not financially burden the consumers in the shape of fuel surcharge adjustments.

It was also highlighted that the state had successfully made a day ahead banking arrangements for the first time and electricity had been procured from West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
The focus of power distribution companies was not to purchase
electricity on higher rates.
