Ropar and Panipat thermal achieve more than 90% PLF: CEA report

The monthly CEA report for July has listed Panipat and Ropar thermal plants amongst 22 thermal plants who achieved more than 90% plant load factor.

ACCORDING TO official sources Ropar thermal plant 848.24 million units and Panipat thermal plant produced 907.995 million units of energy in July. PLF of Ropar thermal for July was 90.76 % and 90.51 % for Panipat Thermal plant as per CEA report. The second stage units 5 to 7 of Panipat plant produced 657.309 million units with more than 96 % PLF.

Central Electricity Authority in its monthly report for July has stated that PLF of coal based plants have slightly improved by 0.32% during July’11 over the same period last year. During the month of July’11, 22 coal based thermal power stations achieved PLF 90% or more.
Out of these 5 power stations having aggregate installed capacity 5100 MW achieved PLF of more than 100% .

The electricity generation in the country during the month of July’11 has been 74,104 million units with a remarkable month’s double digit growth rate of 12.49% corresponding to generation of 65,874 million units. during the same month last year.

The electricity generation in the country from the coal based plants during July’11 has exceeded its program by 299 million units due to 100% availability of coal requirement for the month.

Gross monthly generation of the country during the month was 102.98% of the program for the month. The total thermal generation has achieved a growth rate of 8.08% over same period previous year.
