Ropar thermal plant achieves 90 pc PLF

Guru Gobind Singh Super-Thermal Plant here has achieved more than 90 per cent Plant Load Factor (PLF) in July, as per the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) report.
The plant generated 848.24 million units in July at PLF of 90.76 per cent. It is among 22 thermal plants in the country which boast of above 90 per cent PLF.
In its monthly report for July, the CEA said that PLF of coal-based plants had slightly improved by 0.32 per cent during July this year, as compared to the same period last year. Out of these, five power stations with aggregate installed capacity of 5,100 MW achieved 100 per cent PLF.
Electricity generation in the country during July was 74,104 million units, with a double-digit growth rate of 12.49 per cent, as compared to generation of 65,874 million units last year.
Power generation in the country by coal-based plants during July had exceeded target by 299 million units due to 100 per cent availability of coal requirement for the month. Gross monthly generation in the country during the month was 102.98 per cent. Total thermal generation witnessed a growth rate of 8.08 per cent over the same period the previous year.
