With no headway in talks between the management of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and PSEB Engineers Association (PSEBEA), power engineers have decided to start a state-level dharna on November 22 and take mass casual leave on November 30.
The talks with the management failed on Saturday as the association did not get a positive response on important issues, said PSEBEA president
HS Bedi. The PSPCL refused to commit on putting in R250 crore in the GPF trust as agreed upon in a meeting with the chief minister. In a tripartite agreement signed on November 19, 2010, with trade union and association, it has been agreed that “the state government shall ensure that initial amount of R250 crore will be deposited in this fund and it will be progressively funded”, but the PSPCL management has refused to implement the agreement, said Bedi.
The PSPCL did not agree to review the decision on gener
ation incentive in the agreed timeframe. The engineers said as per transfer scheme notified by the government, no organisation of office allotted to PSTCL can be transferred to PSPCL without amending the transfer scheme for which the company has to get the approval of the cabinet.
The chief minister, in a meeting on October 22, had directed both companies that there shall not be any change in the transfer scheme. The management failed to assure the association that transfer scheme will be implemented.
