Fire in coal plant of Ropar thermal plant damage belts

ROPAR: A fire broke out in the coal handling plant of Ropar thermal plant Thursday damaging the coal carrying belts and cables. The fire broke out in wee hours in the wagon tippler number 2 in coal handling plant of thermal plant.
The fire was controlled after 4 hours today morning. According to sources about 250 meters of belt used for carrying coal to crusher was damaged along with power cables.
The fire was controlled by the fire tenders at about 6 in the morning. The cause of fire could not be ascertained. No official was willing to talk on the issue.
