E-billing is a new system and is routinely followed for delivery of bills through e-mail/SMS in case of mobile,landline phones,creditcard bills and many other services etc. I think it could be used for delivery of energy bills to consumers also. I think there must be some technology like remote metering for recording the energy consumption of consumers through some mobile phone like sim/chip fitted in the meters and without physically going to the premises of the consumer. This could prove to be revolutionary in management of electricity consumption & revenue collection in respect thereof. These days energy bills are being delivered after large gaps and thus are of large amounts. It becomes difficult for consumer to budget such amounts in tight monetary positions.Therfore it would be quite helpful to everybody if the bills delivery system is converted to some automatic regime.
