PSEB imposes 12 hours power cut in urban areas in Punjab

PATIALA: Punjab state electricity board (PSEB) has imposed 12 hours power cut in the domestic supply of urban areas of the state. The state government has also extended summer vacation ins chools by July 12 to cope with the power shortage.
PSEB sources said Tuesday that even though pseb has received power supply of 1606 lac units on Tuesday but fail to meet out the demand of 1920 Lus.
Meanwhile Punjab government has extended the summer vacations of Punjab government schools after PSEB has submitted formal request to them. The government has extended summer vacations till July 13 schools which was to reopen on July 8 (tomorrow), said PSEB sources.
Due to power shortage the working hours of Punjab government offices in Punjab has already been rescheduled from 7.30 am to 1.30 pm.
Meanwhile colonies situated behind the new moti bagh place, private residence of former chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, have been treated as step motherly by PSEB in regard to power supply.
Residents of Malwa Enclave, Good Earth, Malwa Colony, Hem Bagh have alleged that power supply was not regular even after the hours of power cuts. They said that due to non availability of power they have spent sleepless nights since last three days and no body has been redressing their problems.
